With summer in full swing, we wanted our next edible flowers post to be a bit more refreshing. This cocktail recipe is the perfect punch for your Fourth of July cookout. Or, feel free to make it and cheer yourself up on one of these dreadful summer days!
“Buzzed” Citrus Punch – Serves 6

About 20 Buzz Buttons, cut in half, separated
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Water
1 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice
3 Cups Gin
1/2 Cup Orange Liqueur
1 Cup Orange Juice
1 Cup Sparkling Water
Orange Slices & Firestix for Garnish
Let’s get refreshed:
1. Bring sugar and water to a boil in a sauce pan over medium heat. Cook, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and add 10 buzz buttons (20 halves) and let steep in syrup for 2 hours. Remove buzz buttons. Refrigerate syrup for up to 2 weeks.
2. Combine lemon juice, gin, orange liqueur, simple syrup, and orange juice in a large bowl or pitcher. Once combined, add sparkling water and remaining buzz button halves and gently mix.
Pour over ice, garnish with an orange slice & firestix stalk, and serve.
